1-5 REQUIRED MEDICAL CONTROL CONTACT

Medical control contact must be initiated as soon as patient care safely allows in the following problem categories:

  • Difficulty in breathing; shortness of breath
  • Chest pain (non-traumatic)
  • Dysrhythmias
  • Altered level of consciousness
  • Seizure
  • Syncope (age > 35)
  • Drug overdose-toxic substance ingestion
  • Acute abdominal pain with abnormal vital signs
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding with abnormal vital signs
  • Respiratory/cardiac arrest
  • Hypothermia, hyperthermia
  • Allergic reactions or anaphylaxis
  • Vaginal bleeding with abnormal vital signs
  • Any patient meeting guidelines for Major or Potential Major Trauma
