1-5 REQUIRED MEDICAL CONTROL CONTACT

Medical control contact must be initiated as soon as patient care safely allows in the following problem categories:
- Difficulty in breathing; shortness of breath
- Chest pain (non-traumatic)
- Dysrhythmias
- Altered level of consciousness
- Seizure
- Syncope (age > 35)
- Drug overdose-toxic substance ingestion
- Acute abdominal pain with abnormal vital signs
- Gastrointestinal bleeding with abnormal vital signs
- Respiratory/cardiac arrest
- Hypothermia, hyperthermia
- Allergic reactions or anaphylaxis
- Vaginal bleeding with abnormal vital signs
- Any patient meeting guidelines for Major or Potential Major Trauma
